Lanny Keogh

Lanny Keogh's Veterans Page

Jim Tripp passed along to us Lanny's 2023 obituary; it appears that Lanny left Seaholm to serve in Vietnam.

Allan (Lanny) Frank Keogh Jr., age 74 of Holly, MI passed away on Monday, November 20, 2023. Allan was born in Detroit, August 14, 1949, son of Allan and Nancy (Kotts) Keogh. He spent his childhood and teenage years in Birmingham, MI, leaving later to proudly serve in the Army during the Vietnam War. Upon returning to civilian life, he married Ruth (Vrbanac) Keogh, and they had two sons, Justin and John Keogh. When his sons had grown, and after teaching them a formidable sense of independence, he moved to Gorham, Maine, where he lived for 18 years in a beautiful 19th century farmhouse, eventually moving back to Michigan to be close to his family. Allan owned and operated Keogh Landscapes for over 30 years, creating gorgeous artwork out of the natural world. He enjoyed working with his hands, woodworking, curating his landscape and residence, and maintaining his impeccable 1999 Ford F350. He was so proud when it became an official “Classic Vehicle” in 2019. Always one with an unforgettable sense of humor, his laughter and joy echoes through everyone he knew and spoke with. Lanny was also an incredible teacher and mentor, intent on sharing his knowledge and lessons with anyone who would listen. Allan leaves to cherish his memory his two sons, Justin Keogh of Tucson, AZ, John and Kara Keogh of Holly; beloved mother, Nancy Kotts Pettibone; sister, Shelley and Sam Cole; grandchildren, Eve and Ivy Keogh and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Allan Keogh and sister, Linda Brillhart. Lanny, with his kind heart, his laughter, and his love, will be dearly and deeply missed, but never forgotten. Dear Dad, Brother, Son, Lanny, we love you so much it hurts, always and forever… Until we meet again…

With Gratitude,
John and Justin Keogh
