Fall 1966 - ca. 59 years ago

The Highlander - The Bairn magazine - Fall, 1966 of our SENIOR YEAR!

FIELD DAY!, SAT exams, the MUMA Manifesto, college applications, football, term papers, Funsapoppin', and all:  No wonder we all experienced the embryonic (or more advanced) stages of senioritis.  For the time being, all we have for you from that banner semester is this special edition of the November The Bairn magazine from The Highlander, dedicated entirely to FIELD DAY!  We'll be adding the regular fall 1966 weekly editions of The Highlander as we approach, fall 2026.  Keep a lookout for more issues of your favorite read of 1966!

Many thanks to Jim Tripp for archiving this and other items, through the decades, and for forwarding it on for all of us to enjoy!

NOTE: Page 15 and the back cover were damaged during the nearly 60-year slumber of this edition of The Bairn, so to make up for the missing pages here are some more Field Day 1966 photos from The '66 Piper:

Here are the class presidents and Field Day chairpeople for the respective classes (and Principal Wagner looks especially excited)

Ah, the tension is palpable (from our junior year, 1965 - when we TIED THE SENIORS!!! (the first tie for first place, ever!):

Red Ants! / Red Ants! / Can't be beat! / Because they have little red feet! /

They're tough, they're industrious, / Beyond that, they're red! /

And they have little red antennas [sic]  / Sticking out of their heads! /

GO RED! / GO WHITE! / RED ANTS! / FIGHT, FIGHT!
