Fred Dye’s veteran’s page
This information about Fred’s service and later life was passed along to us by Jim Trew in 2026:
“…he was in the US Air Force for a couple of years specializing in electronics & computer programming, I believe. He lived on Maui for a couple of years after he left the service and had two daughters along the way with his wife Jan. Fred had some friends in a prominent Rock band on Maui & helped them from time to time. He moved back to the mainland ca. '72 & settled in Boulder, CO. In Boulder he continued his computer programming education while working odd jobs like a beer vendor at Denver Broncos games! Soon he got a job with IBM as a computer programmer in Boulder. He divorced in around 1980 & remarried Luvi in 1988, until his death in 2015. Fred had only been retired for a couple of years when he died from pneumonia after having battled cancer for 2 years. He skipped the 3rd grade at Pembroke and was a voracious reader.”
Jim relates that he and Fred were best friends for a good many years in school. Many thanks for the update, Jim!
