The Highlander - Archives for the Class of 1967
Attention, all wanabe time travelers! You can go back in time, to your salad days at Seaholm! Here is the first of our series of occasional scans of our noble school weekly newspaper. And how ever did the intrepid Highlander staff content-create week in and week out, while juggling classes, home work, clubs, church, volunteer work? Our hats are off you!
Now settle back, forget the present state of the world, and go back to those halcyon days of your youth, by clicking below:
The Highlander - Jan. 13, 1967
(It seems that Jim Tripp happily found a whole bundle of Highlanders - some 40 0f them, and he forwarded them on to us. Many thanks, Jim!)
We'll be adding additional 1964-1967 Highlander issues as we can - our goal is one a month. And, if you want to see the Highlander from other years (all the way back to 1939), you can click on the link below. But don't expect to see our class years there - for some reason we were left out! We're trying to address that problem by posting what we can on our own website.

75th anniversary of Birmingham Seaholm High School
Birmingham Public Schools is seeking material from Seaholm alumni from all classes to celebrate the 75th Anniversary of the opening of Birmingham High School in 1951
A message from Birmingham Public Schools: They are seeking material from SHS alumni for an film documenting the first 75 years of Birmingham Seaholm High School. Please see the announcement below (and please note that this doesn't have anything to do with the 60th reunion of the Class of 1967, which is Sept. 17-18-19, 2027):
"Greetings Seaholm Alumni!
In the fall of 2026, we will be celebrating the 75th anniversary of Seaholm High School, which originally opened as Birmingham High School in 1951. As part of our commemorative activities, we will be producing a documentary film. We are seeking alumni to share stories, photographs, and personal anecdotes from their time at Seaholm. Our goal is to capture the distinctive spirit of each decade and highlight significant historical events that occurred during that time. If you would like to contribute your stories, ideas, or photos, please email them to Seaholm75@birmingham.k12.mi.us "
Thanks to Nancy Theodoroff Townsend for bringing this to our attention!
