I last saw Dan and Dori Livy July 10, 2014 and they both were happy and healthy. We went out to dinner in Louisville KY on the Ohio River and remonised about High School. Dan has two brothers, Doug is older and one 6 or 8 years younger. They have two sons that played hockey. I will miss Dan a lot. I am so very fortunate to have spent time with him and Dori when I did.
I was fortunate to party with Dan for many years as we attended Eastern together (I transfered from U of M my senior year because Eastern was a teacher's college and for teaching, their degree meant more) and gained mutual friends through bartending at the Ale House. Dan became a nurse and ran into reverse discrimination. Because most men were doctors, Dan was thrust into leadership immediately. He then ran many nursing homes so well, that he was often offered a big bonus to return to former employees (from Michigan to California back to Mich.). I remember when he first brought Dori to one of the New Year's parties. Our group fell in love with her charm and pleasant nature. Dan worked SO HARD, he often was under a lot of painful stress and yet still partied as a loving man. I will have a beer in his honor with the group that evolved from the Ale House.

"I stumbled across this site in a search to try and contact people who knew my father, Dan Livy. Someone had asked when his service would be. It will be Sept. 23 at St. James church at 10:00 AM.... It was nice to see posts about him on your 'In Memory' page. Thank you very much."

Wow. I talk to Dan a few times each year and was really looking forward to seeing him at the 50th.
I know he took the loss of his wife to cancer with grace but was, understandably, suffering from her passing.
He was an extraordinarily bright and funny guy.
He lived an honorable life and will be missed.

Just found out about Dan's passing, very sad and
pretty shocking to hear, so many great adventures
at Seaholm, I was fondly looking forward to seeing him
and Jim Reily at the Reunion and rerun old memories of
