Carol Collins spent over 35 years with the Jane Goodall Foundation, traveling to Africa, living in the wild, studying and benefiting research. She will be sorely missed for her intelligence, dedication, and impact on world change. I have many memories of Carol helping me pass math, supporting each other through dysfunctional family stuff, her great sense of humor, caring, and sharp intelligence through Quarton, Barnum and Seaholm. After attending the 50th last year, I tried to contact Carol but no response. Ironically, this past weekend, old Seaholm friends got together and we reminisced about Carol. I hope she heard how much she was loved and admired and will be dearly missed in this world. --- Judy Tower Kajander
Update on Carol by Bill Gray (dated 5-23-22):
Carol worked with Robert Ballard after college on his deep sea submarines, and filming equipment he was developing at Woods Hole, early on. She was involved with the Titanic project and filming.
After working with Ballard, Carol worked with Jane Goodall in Africa with Primates, and later worked in Jane Goodall's Foundation headquarters in Virginia.
Carol died 8-24-2016, at work, in Virginia. A remarkable life!

Thank you, Judy, for posting such a nice rememberance of our fellow classmate, Carol. I knew her from before kindergarden - as she lived 4 houses down the street from me, and across from where Bill Gray lived. We all played together for years (AND, her family's compost pile in her back hard had the Best Worms in it for fishing bait -- when Bill and I were heading up the street to fish in the Rouge River on the north side of 16 Mile Road at Fairfax). Carol was a great person and will be missed.
